Clay County Archives and Historical Library ~ Liberty, Missouri

Preserving the Past for the Present

Another Successful Annual Autumn Booksale

Thanks to Dail & Sallie Hobbs, this was even better than last year.

September 23rd, 2000 --

The Clay County Archives held the 2000 annual book sale on September 22 and 23. We had even more and better books than in the past with improved facilities to display them. The many hours of dedicated work by the Hobbs and other volunteers, enabled us and our patrons to top the 1999 book buying/selling experience. The Archives is located at 210 East Franklin in Liberty and is open Monday through Wednesday between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. The telephone number is 781-3611.

The annual book sale has become a traditional part of the fun and festivities surrounding Liberty's Historic Square during the Fall Festival. By donating books, readers help out the organization and clear off a shelf or two for their own purchases at the book sale. This is a great way to recycle.

Proceeds from the book sale benefit the Clay County Archives; a nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving Clay County history.
