Clay County Archives and Historical Library ~ Liberty, Missouri

Preserving the Past for the Present

 Video History Committee Meeting

Our latest project is to increase our valuable holdings with the addition of oral & visual Clay County history.

January 28, 2000 -- The new "Clay County Archives & Historical Library Video History Committee" will take on an ambitious project to create a library of videotape of local historians and 'those who know tales' of Clay County events (and their participants). You might think of this library as a Video Time Capsule. Once we have compiled an ample collection of footage, that footage will be viewable to our patrons but we will also start the process of editing the clips into programs that will be available for use by schools, history buffs, community organizations, etc. We even plan to video tape some "current events" so that future generations will have a reference to life here in the 21st century. Donations of related audio and video tape (and movies) are welcome and encouraged. If you have 'footage' of important events of Clay County's 20th century, please consider donating it to us. Remember, 'important events' can mean certain family get-togethers such as reunions and the like.
